Tnemec Company, Inc. has announced the launch of Series 288 and Series 289 Enviro-Pox, revolutionary waterborne epoxies designed to deliver outstanding performance in flooring and wall coating applications. As advanced alternatives to traditional epoxies, these coatings provide exceptional durability, chemical resistance, and user-friendly application — all while maintaining a lower environmental impact.

Engineered to outperform conventional waterborne epoxies, Enviro-Pox offers extended pot life, low ambering, and multitude of application options. Series 288 delivers a high-gloss finish ideal for flake and aggregate broadcast or mortar applications, while Series 289 stands out as a premier satin-finish concrete sealer and low-sheen topcoat. Both products are available in clear and factory-tinted options, allowing for unmatched flexibility across various project needs.

Enviro-Pox offers contractors and facility maintenance teams a faster, more efficient solution without compromising quality. Despite their lower solids content, Series 288 and 289 achieve film builds and chemical resistance comparable to 100% solids systems, making them a cost-effective and high-performing alternative. Additionally, both coatings are compatible with high-performance topcoats to enhance UV resistance and long-term durability.

“Enviro-Pox is a game-changer for contractors looking for reliable performance with easier application,” said Brandon Atwood, director of Floor and Wall Products at Tnemec. “With its extended pot life, excellent flowability, and ability to be used on green concrete, it simplifies the job without sacrificing results.”

Series 288 Enviro-Pox

Generic Type

Waterborne Epoxy

Common Usage

Series 288 is a low ambering, advanced generation, breathable, waterborne epoxy with enhanced UV stability and resistance to yellowing. Series 288 is suitable for both wall and flooring applications including higher build broadcast and mortar flooring applications and can be applied to green concrete. It has excellent resistance to chemical and solvent exposures and can be used as a primer, topcoat, or standalone sealer.

Floor/Horizontal Applications: If more than 72 hours have elapsed between coats, the coated surface must be mechanically abraded before topcoating. All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of contaminates. Note: There is no maximum recoat time if aggregate or flake has been broadcast to refusal into the preceding coat. Curing time varies with surface temperature, air movement, humidity, and film thickness.
Wall/Vertical Applications: If more than six (6) months have elapsed between coats, the coated surface must be mechanically abraded before topcoating. All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of contaminates. Curing time varies with surface temperature, air movement, humidity, and film thickness.
