Polyrheo USA acquires the plant from Huntsman

Polyrheo USA is announces the purchase of Huntsman’s Maple Shade, New Jersey, USA chemical manufacturing plant.
This facility was previously owned by CVC Thermoset and Emerald Performance Materials, before being acquired by Huntsman in February 2020. Polyrheo has begun the process of recommissioning this manufacturing plant. Start up timing will be consistent with the renewal of permits, etc.
Tony Thomas, President of Polyrheo USA, explained that the Maple Shade site is a logical next step towards the strategic goal of becoming a relevant chemical manufacturer in the United States with a focus on chemicals for the CASE market, particularly resins. “Maple Shade is our third chemical plant in the United States. The others are located in Philadelphia PA and Newell Polymers in West Virginia (a former Deltech resin plant).” The company also has production facilities in Canada and India.
